Flourishing industrial dev’t in North Shewa zone powers Ethiopia’s economic growth – Deputy PM
Addis Ababa, November 11, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopia’s North Shewa Zone of Amhara region is rapidly becoming a hub of industrial development, fueling economic growth and job creation, Deputy Prime Minister [Name] said Monday during a visit to the region’s major manufacturing sites.

The Deputy PM toured the agro-processing park, ceramic factory, and pulp and paper factories in North Shewa, calling them “symbols of progress and productivity” and highlighting them as visible results of national industrial reforms.
“These industrial complexes show that our initiatives to strengthen manufacturing are yielding tangible outcomes,” the Deputy PM said. “The manufacturing sector remains a national priority, as it not only generates wealth but also strengthens connections across multiple sectors of the economy.”
Officials noted that factories in North Shewa contribute directly to wealth creation and economic synergy, with the output of one enterprise often serving as the input for another. This interconnected industrial ecosystem promotes job creation, improves productivity, and helps conserve foreign exchange.
“Where peace and diligence prevail, factories become engines of development, citizens become agents of change, and the nation moves toward sustainable prosperity,” the Deputy PM added, describing North Shewa as a “shining example” of these principles in action.
