PM Abiy Appoints Ambassador Betre Mengistu as Head of the Prime Minister’s Special Office

Addis Ababa, December 1, 2025 (FMC) – PM Abiy Ahmed has appointed Ambassador Betre Mengistu as Head of the Prime Minister’s Special Office, with the rank of Minister of State.

The Office of the Prime Minister announced the appointment in a statement released on Monday through its official social media platforms, indicating that the appointment will take effect on December 2, 2025.
