PM Abiy Ahmed welcomes President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia

Addis Ababa, December 19, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today welcomed the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Addis Ababa today, for a one-day official working visit. Upon arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, the President was greeted by PM Abiy Ahmed.

“We held a productive working lunch, continuing the discussions held over the past year and building on the progress made in strengthening our bilateral cooperation,” PM Abiy said in a social media post.

The Ethiopian PM confirmed that their discussion focused on advancing shared priorities.

On the occasion, both leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deeper partnership, regional stability, and development.
