Corridor Development Projects Transforming Cities, Preparing Nation for Urban Growth: PM Abiy Ahmed

Addis Ababa, February 21, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said corridor development projects underway across the country are transforming cities and laying the foundation for a stronger future.

The Prime Minister made the remarks after observing second-phase corridor development works in Hawassa.

“The corridor development projects are transforming many cities as part of the effort to build a better country for future generations,” he stated. He added that the projects, in their overall scope, are preparing the country for the growing trend of urbanization.

“Today, we observed the corridor development works carried out in the second phase in the beautiful city of Hawassa,” the Prime Minister said.
