Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia reaffirm commitment to deepening bilateral ties

Addis Ababa, February 23, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Gedion Timothewos, met this morning with Waleed A. M. Elkhereiji, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at his office.

During the meeting, the two sides reflected on the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscoring the importance of further elevating cooperation to a higher level.

They also exchanged views on regional peace and security issues of mutual interest.
