Israeli President Isaac Herzog Visits Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, February 25, 2026 (FMC) — Isaac Herzog, President of Israel, toured the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa this morning as part of his official working visit to Ethiopia.

During his visit to the memorial, President Herzog was received by the Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie.

“This morning, we had the honor of hosting Isaac Herzog, President of Israel, at the Adwa Victory Memorial — a symbol of pride for all Black people,” Mayor Adanech said following the visit.

“During the visit, we explored the history of our heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice for national sovereignty,” she added.

The Mayor thanked President Herzog for his time at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum.

“On behalf of myself and the City Administration, I wish him a productive stay in the Land of Origins, Ethiopia, and our beautiful capital, Addis Ababa,” Mayor Adanech stated.

It is known that the Israeli head of state arrived in the Ethiopian capital in the early hours of today. During his stay here in Ethiopia, President Herzog is expected to hold discussions with senior government officials on matters aimed at further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
