Ethiopia, Mozambique Foreign Ministers Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Addis Ababa, April 27, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, held talks with his Mozambican counterpart, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas, aimed at further enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, according to Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Gedion noted that Ethiopia and Mozambique share a longstanding and distinctive relationship rooted in the principles of Pan-Africanism, emphasizing the importance of advancing concrete areas of cooperation to further strengthen ties.

For her part, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas expressed Mozambique’s keen interest in deepening bilateral relations and in drawing from Ethiopia’s development experiences. She also affirmed her readiness to work collaboratively across a range of sectors.
