Ethiopia and WION Move to Strengthen Media Cooperation, Advance South-South Priorities

Addis Ababa, August 28, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia and WION Media have agreed to strengthen content collaboration, seeking to expand coverage of the evolving Ethiopia-India relationship and advance shared priorities of the Global South.

Ethiopian Ambassador to India Nebiyu Tedla held talks with WION Media Chief Editor Rabin on enhanced cooperation between the Embassy and the global broadcaster, with discussions focusing on expanding media engagement and content collaboration.

The partnership is set to leverage WION’s international reach to bring greater visibility to developments in Ethiopia-India relations and provide broader coverage of issues of mutual interest to the two countries.

WION reaches audiences in more than 190 countries through international bureaus covering diplomacy, politics and business, providing a broad platform for highlighting Ethiopia-India relations and wider issues affecting the Global South.

The two sides also agreed to use the expanded media cooperation to promote people-to-people exchanges and contribute to greater understanding of shared Global South priorities through nuanced coverage of issues of mutual interest.
