PM Abiy Ahmed Marks the Completion of 2026 Green Legacy Campaign

Addis Ababa, September 10, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and First Lady Zinash Tayachew, alongside senior government officials, have marked the completion of Ethiopia’s 2026 Green Legacy seedling-planting campaign by jointly planting seedlings.

The closing event was held under this year’s theme, “Let Us Plant Hope,” as Ethiopia concluded its annual nationwide tree-planting campaign.

In a message shared by the Office of the Prime Minister, the completion of the campaign was described as a reminder that every seedling planted represents a living symbol of unity, national renaissance and sustainable development.

The message expressed confidence that continued unity and collective effort will contribute to building a prosperous and brighter Ethiopia, reaffirming the initiative’s broader emphasis on environmental restoration alongside the country’s development ambitions.
