Deputy PM Temesgen emphasizes transformation, peace & investment in dev’t endeavors

Addis Ababa, April 17, 2026 (FMC) — Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh has emphasized the importance of transforming natural resources into engines of growth and shared prosperity, underscoring vision-driven development efforts in the country.

The remarks were shared in a social media post following his visit to South Wollo Zone of Amhara region over the past two days, during which he presided over the commencement of operations of Logo Lake Resort, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in February 2026.

He highlighted that natural endowments should be transformed into sources of economic opportunity, community benefit, and sustainable growth rather than remaining underutilized.

The post noted that the development reflects the implementation of the “Dine for Generation” initiative, aimed at leveraging natural assets to drive long-term development outcomes.

It further underscored that such projects are the result of coordinated engagement among government leadership, private sector actors, and local communities.

The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed to investment-linked social benefits, including agricultural transformation initiatives and support for community education.

He stressed that development gains are closely linked to peace, describing them as a dividend of stability and cooperation.

Mr. Temesgen further called on religious leaders, elders, and young people to safeguard peace, emphasizing its importance for sustaining development achievements and ensuring long-term prosperity.

The message framed the development trajectory as part of broader national efforts toward sustainable growth and shared progress.
