Addis Ababa, April 20, 2026 (FMC) — President Taye Atske-Selassie received Austria’s Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger at his office today for discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation.
The Office of the President stated that the two sides discussed ways to deepen partnership and enhance cooperation in support of shared development objectives.
In a message shared on his social media pages, President Taye said, “We discussed on the importance of our relationship informed by rich history since 1741 and the treaty of Friendship and commerce signed 1905. We also exchanged views on global peace and security.”
Beate Meinl-Reisinger is in Addis Ababa as part of the European Union delegation attending the Ethiopia–EU Business Forum 2026, which is currently underway in the capital.
The forum is being held under the theme “Unlocking the Global Gateway Potential” and runs from April 20 to 22, 2026.
