Addis Ababa, August 6, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, accompanied by First Lady Zinash Tayachew and senior government officials, has toured key development sites in Bahir Dar City, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen the city’s role as a center of trade, tourism, and investment.
The Prime Minister traveled to Bahir Dar to inaugurate the new terminal at Dejazmach Belay Zeleke International Airport, a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing air connectivity and supporting the city’s growing economic potential.
Following the inauguration, Prime Minister Abiy visited strategic development sites across the city, observing projects focused on urban transformation and improving opportunities for residents.
During the visit, the Prime Minister and his delegation witnessed development activities demonstrating Bahir Dar’s potential and reviewed initiatives designed to stimulate tourism, promote economic growth, and further position the city as a national economic hub.
The delegation also observed the technology-supported reform underway at the Amhara Regional Supreme Court as part of efforts to modernize public services through digital solutions.
