Ethiopian Airlines Takes Delivery of First DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G to Strengthen Regional Operations

Addis Ababa, June 22, 2026 (FMC) – Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of the first of two DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G aircraft from De Havilland Canada, marking a new addition to its fleet aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and specialized aviation services.

The versatile aircraft, known for its reliability and short takeoff and landing capabilities, is expected to expand the airline’s operational reach across diverse and challenging routes.

According to the airline, the new Twin Otter aircraft will support a range of missions including tourism operations, aerial surveys, and air ambulance services, alongside other specialized functions.

The addition is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ broader strategy to strengthen its capability to serve diverse markets efficiently while maintaining reliable service standards across its network.

The remaining aircraft from the two-unit order is expected to be delivered at a later stage, it has been learned.
