“Ethiopia’s Future is Being Built for the Youth” – Mayor Adanech at Massive Youth Campaign Event

Addis Ababa, May 23, 2026 (FMC) – Addis Ababa City Mayor Ms. Adanech Abebe has stated that Ethiopia’s future is being actively shaped through ongoing development efforts, emphasizing that the progress achieved over the past five years demonstrates the country’s inevitable prosperity.

The Mayor made the remarks while addressing a large-scale election campaign event held with thousands of youth at Gelan Gura Industrial Park under the theme “Youth Votes, Ethiopia Prospers.”

Mayor Adanech underscored that the city administration is committed to addressing youth-related concerns through concrete action rather than rhetoric, noting that government institutions are working continuously, 24 hours a day and seven days a week, to close gaps and expand opportunities for young people.

She further highlighted that the campaign brought together more than 70,000 young participants through various activities, including sports, at Gelan Gura Industrial Park—an area she described as one of the visible symbols of youth empowerment efforts in recent years.

The Mayor added that the development achievements registered over the past five years stand as clear testimony to Ethiopia’s steady progress, stressing that the country is being built with a strong focus on its younger generation, who represent the future of the nation.

Concluding her remarks, Mayor Adanech expressed appreciation to the youth of Addis Ababa for their active participation and for demonstrating support for the vision and aspirations of the Prosperity Party.
