JINR Brings Global Nuclear Science and Innovation to a Wider BRICS+ Audience Through TV BRICS

Addis Ababa, September 3, 2026 (FMC) — The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), one of the world’s leading international centres for nuclear and fundamental research, is set to bring its scientific work and technological advances to a wider global audience through a new partnership with TV BRICS, TV BRICS reported.

The cooperation agreement brings together JINR’s international scientific expertise and TV BRICS’ multimedia reach, creating a new platform for showcasing breakthroughs in nuclear physics, particle physics and related technologies.

The partnership is also designed to strengthen scientific ties among BRICS+ countries by promoting research achievements, expanding access to scientific knowledge and fostering connections among researchers and expert communities.

The agreement was signed by JINR Director and Russian Academy of Sciences Academician Grigory Trubnikov and TV BRICS CEO and Editor-in-Chief Janna Tolstikova.

Based in Dubna, Russia, JINR is marking its 70th anniversary in 2026. The intergovernmental research centre brings together 15 member states and maintains scientific cooperation with institutions and universities across dozens of countries, as well as with major international organizations including the International Atomic Energy Agency, UNESCO and CERN.

Its research capabilities span seven laboratories and include major facilities such as the NICA collider, the Superheavy Element Factory, the Baikal-GVD neutrino telescope and the IBR-2 pulsed fast-neutron reactor.

The institute’s scientific programmes are supported by advanced computing infrastructure, including the HybriLIT high-performance computing platform and the Govorun supercomputer, enabling large-scale research and complex data analysis.

The partnership will give TV BRICS audiences greater exposure to JINR’s research, scientific infrastructure and technological developments, while highlighting the wider significance of international collaboration in advancing frontier science.

It builds on TV BRICS’ science-focused initiatives, including its Experts platform and Laboratorium television series, which showcase scientific discoveries, technological developments and innovation across BRICS countries.
