Addis Ababa, July 4, 2026 (FMC) โ Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today inaugurated the Arba Minch Conference Resort, describing it as another major achievement of the ‘Dine for Generation’ initiative and a new jewel of Ethiopia’s tourism sector.
In a social media post following the inauguration, the Prime Minister said the modern resort is a significant outcome of the national initiative aimed at expanding the country’s tourism infrastructure and economic opportunities.
According to the Prime Minister, the resort features a state-of-the-art conference hall with a seating capacity of more than 1,300 people, as well as a unique floating restaurant built on the lake.
Abiy said the facility will strengthen Ethiopia’s vision of becoming a hub for international forums by expanding conference tourism beyond the capital, while creating broad employment opportunities for the local community.
The Prime Minister also called on Ethiopians across the country, members of the diaspora, and the international community to visit and experience what he described as the country’s newest tourism jewel, inviting them to take part in a new chapter of Ethiopia’s tourism and conference industry.
The inauguration forms part of the Prime Minister’s ongoing visit to the Gamo Zone of the South Ethiopia Region, where he has been touring and inaugurating major infrastructure, tourism, and development projects aimed at unlocking the area’s economic potential and enhancing Ethiopia’s tourism competitiveness.
