PM Abiy, EU Foreign Policy Chief Discuss Strengthening EU-Africa Relations, Expanding Economic Cooperation
Addis Ababa, July 15, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held talks on Wednesday with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, focusing on strengthening EU-Africa relations, addressing regional issues of shared concern, and expanding economic cooperation.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Addis Ababa, centered on key priority areas of mutual interest, with both sides exchanging views on ways to deepen the partnership between the European Union and Africa.
Prime Minister Abiy said the discussions also addressed pertinent regional issues and explored strategic pathways to further advance and broaden economic cooperation.
The meeting reflects the continued engagement between Ethiopia and the European Union on regional, continental, and economic priorities.
