President Taye Extends Mawlid Greetings, Wishes for Peace, Love and Unity
Addis Ababa, August 25, 2026 (FMC) — #Ethiopia’s President Taye Atske-Selassie has extended his best wishes to Muslims in the country and around the world on the occasion of the 1,501st Mawlid al-Nabi, expressing hope that the celebration will be marked by peace, love, mutual understanding and unity.
In his message, the President conveyed his wishes for the occasion to bring togetherness and strengthen bonds of solidarity among communities, emphasizing values of peace, love and unity.
Mawlid, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad, is being observed today by Muslims in Ethiopia and across the world.
President Taye’s message comes as Muslims mark the occasion, which holds deep religious and cultural significance and is observed through prayers, reflection and communal gatherings.
He wished all Muslims a peaceful and meaningful Mawlid celebration.
