PM Abiy Says Ethiopia–UAE Partnership Rooted in Trust Following Meeting with UAE President
Addis Ababa, March 13, 2026 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held discussions with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, focusing on ways to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two nations.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister traveled to the UAE on Thursday 12th March 2026 for working visit.
In a social media post shared this evening after his visit to UAE, the Prime Minister said the meeting explored opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation and advance regional stability, emphasizing the deep-rooted trust that underpins relations between Ethiopia and the UAE.
“Our discussions focused on strengthening the longstanding partnership between Ethiopia and the UAE, expanding cooperation, and advancing regional stability,” he noted.
He also stressed that the bilateral ties between Ethiopia and the UAE are rooted in trust.
PM Abiy also expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to him during the visit, noting the shared commitment of both countries to deepen their friendship and collaboration.
It is noteworthy that Ethiopia and the UAE maintain close ties across various sectors, including investment, development cooperation, and regional peace initiatives.
