Azerbaijan Parliament Speaker Arrives in Addis Ababa to Advance Bilateral Relations

Addis Ababa, July 29, 2026 (FMC) — Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova arrived in Addis Ababa on Tuesday for an official visit aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Azerbaijan.

Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Speaker Gafarova was welcomed by Deputy Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives Lomi Bedo and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.

During her visit, the Azerbaijani parliamentary speaker is scheduled to hold discussions with senior Ethiopian government officials on ways to expand cooperation between the two countries across areas of mutual interest.

The visit comes as Ethiopia and Azerbaijan continue to explore opportunities to deepen diplomatic and institutional ties. See less
