Ethiopia and China Exchange Views on Regional Stability and Cooperation for Peace and Security in Africa

Addis Ababa, November 4, 2026 (FMC) – Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos held talks with China’s Special Envoy for African Affairs, Liu Xianfa, on peace and security in Africa, with particular focus on the Horn of Africa.

During the meeting at his office, Minister Gedion briefed the Chinese envoy on the prevailing peace and security situation in the Horn of Africa.

For his part, Liu reaffirmed China’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace and security across Africa.
