Adigrat University Welcomes Returning and Newly Admitted Students as Academic Activities Resume Across Tigray Region
Addis Ababa, November 2, 2026 (FMC) — Adigrat University has begun receiving returning and newly admitted students, marking a further step in the resumption of regular academic activities across Ethiopia’s Tigray Region.
Students arrived at the university today, where they were welcomed by university President Dr. Gebremichael Woldegebriel, other officials and members of the students’ union.
The university said the student reception process will continue through November 3, 2026, urging both returning and newly admitted students to arrive on campus and complete their registration within the designated period.
The development comes as higher education institutions across the region resume student admissions and academic activities. Mekelle University has also recently welcomed newly admitted students, while schools in different parts of Tigray are beginning to resume teaching and learning.
The return of students to campuses signals renewed momentum in restoring educational services and normal institutional activities in the region, allowing young people to continue their studies and pursue their academic aspirations.
