Addis Ababa, January 24, 2026 (FMC) – Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced that Addis Ababa has successfully completed an average of 95.3 percent of planned projects across all sectors during the first six months of the 2025/26 fiscal year, attributing the achievement to a renewed work culture and the active engagement of both residents and development partners.
The announcement was made as the city officially launched a performance evaluation forum for government and ruling Prosperity Party initiatives in the first half of the current fiscal year.
In her address, Mayor Adanech expressed gratitude to city officials, employees, and development partners for their contributions to reaching this milestone. She emphasized that, despite the strong performance, it is imperative to identify institutional gaps and strategically focus on priority areas to sustain momentum.
She further highlighted that the forum serves as a platform to enhance institutional capacity and share experiences, enabling the city administration to deliver public services with greater efficiency, dedication, and accountability in the remaining half of the fiscal year.
