PM Abiy Ahmed meets with French President Emanuel Macron in Paris

Addis Ababa, May 22, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) today met and held talks with the President of France Emanuel Macron.

“It’s always a pleasure to engage in positive discussions with President Emmanuel Macron on a wide range of issues that strengthen our cooperation and partnership,” Premier Abiy said in a social media post after the discussion with the French president.

“I appreciate the warm hospitality extended and the fruitful conversations, following up on our last meeting in Addis Ababa in December 2024,” Abiy said.

The Prime Minister emphasized, “While our collaboration spans many vital areas, enhancing commercial ties remains among the central priorities.”

It is noteworthy that PM Abiy Ahmed, accompanied by First Lady Zinash Tayachew and a high-level delegation, arrived in Paris, France on Thursday for a working visit.

Upon arrival in the French capital, Premier Abiy and his delegation, received a welcoming ceremony at the Musée de l’Armée.
